I haven’t spent a lot of time in Bernal Heights. It’s easy to get stuck in a routine and go to the same places all the time so I wanted to try something new.
Pinhole Coffee is on Cortland Ave., the main street through the neighborhood, and has the best decor of any coffee shop I’ve been to as you can see in the photo above. I also loved their chocolate chip sea salt cookies from Marla Bakery, a bakery I have yet to visit but is on my list. And because its been unusually warm these last few months, an iced coffee was in order. Post-coffee, I drove my car up the hills above Cortland Ave. to Bernal Heights park and then walked to the hill top where the views are amazing.
