During my week exploring the Dalmatian Coast, the island of Hvar was by far my favorite destination. From the beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere to the delicious food, Hvar is a place I would return to again and again without question.
I stayed one night in Hvar in early April and the view from my hotel window at Adriana was nothing short of spectacular. To be honest, I could’ve just sat on my bed and looked at the view all day long but I thought I should probably get out and walk around town.
April is not exactly busy season on the island of Hvar so it felt like I had the place to myself and most of the restaurants were closed until the summer season. I think I preferred this to the constant crowds and sweltering heat that are a guarantee in July and August.
I had room to roam around the streets of Hvar Town, climbed up to the Citadel for an incredible view, enjoyed a leisurely lunch of mussels and frites at Macondo, and spent an hour or two in the morning and afternoon with a cup of coffee or glass of wine as the locals are all about that chill life.
Hotel Adriana is especially nice not just because of the view but also because of their breakfast patio that looks out to the harbor, their rooftop bar, and their Sensori spa where I had an amazing algae facial for an added boost of relaxation.
Hvar, you got me. I hope to go back one day to explore more of this island and its beaches but for now, enjoy these photos of this most relaxing and beautiful Croatian haven.
