Photo Essay: Snowmobile Tour in Vail, Colorado

Vail

I am not a snow girl. I am a California girl, born and bred. I tried snowboarding once and it was a disaster. I know I should give ski lessons a try and maybe on my second trip to Colorado I’ll actually give it a shot, but on my first trip to Colorado to visit one of my closest friends I was content to ride snowmobiles.

We drove the two hours or so from downtown Denver to Vail, a picturesque ski resort dressed in white. My friend found a deal offered by Travelzoo for a guided snowmobile tour by Nova Guides. Our guide was really good to us as we followed him on trails through the tallest trees and up hills that revealed stunning views of the bluest sky above and layers of snow below. We stopped at a lodge for cider and hot chocolate to warm us up but I was still freezing. It didn’t matter though because it was the most beautiful scene – white, pristine, and quiet, and I would do it all over again.
