It’s easy to get wrapped up in the major attractions, shopping, and restaurants of a metropolitan city like San Francisco but what’s nice about this place is that you can also get a taste of nature and the outdoors without having to go very far.
When my cousin Carl came into town to visit our family, he wanted to go on a hike. My family doesn’t do a lot of hiking but I was up for it because it was a refreshing change from taking visitors to the usual spots like Fisherman’s Wharf or Ghiradelli Square.
I went on a gorgeous hike down to Empress Falls in the Blue Mountains. It’s in the town of Wentworth Falls to be exact and the trail starts at the Conservation Hut. My friend Sasha and I were pretty much the only ones on the trail when we started hiking at 10am or so. The way down closer to the forest floor was easy even though the paths weren’t so clear cut and there were a lot of rocks and steep steps but once we were down by the falls it was just absolutely beautiful.
