One of my favorite memories of Sydney was waking up at the Valley of the Waters Bed & Breakfast (you must go here!) in the Blue Mountains. It was just the ideal morning. I had never stayed at a B&B before but after staying at this one I would do it a hundred times more. My friend Sasha and I splurged on this particular one and our room was on the bottom floor and had a wooden patio that overlooked the backyard and mountains beyond. We arrived the night before and were in awe the next morning when we could take in the view in the sunlight.
The owners of the B&B brought us a big brekkie at 8:30 am and placed our trays on the table outside on the patio. It was the beginning of fall in Sydney and even cooler in the Blue Mountains so we put on our workout clothes and jackets before stepping outside to eat. It was a big brekkie indeed! Hot eggs, toast, tomatoes, sausage, and bacon with orange juice and tea. It was perfect and just what we needed before our hike to nearby Empress Falls.
There was hardly any noise while we ate except for the lourikeets in the trees and an eager Labrador from next door trying to join us for breakfast.
There was no internet reception where we were meaning no distractions. My friend and I could just enjoy our food, warm our hands around hot cups of tea, and have our girl talk. Not every day is a picture perfect postcard but when those picturesque moments come along I happily cease them and enjoy them for all their worth.
