There were many parts of The Lost Girls I could identify with but none more so than this passage here:
“Even when we’re in the shittiest of shit hostels or trapped on a ten-thousand-hour bus ride – I don’t know, I just love it. It’s like I finally found something bigger than myself to focus on.”
For me, it wasn’t the hostels or buses that distracted me from trivial pursuits at home but the views.
There were vast views that literally left me speechless so that all I could do was just sit there and soak it in. Sitting quiet for a while and gazing out at a gorgeous scene never failed to make me question why I would ever pity myself over or complain about petty things back at home. The view in front of me was always so much bigger and beautiful than anything else which is why there really are no other words for the pictures that follow.
Have you had a travel moment that has felt bigger than you?
